You don’t have to be in the hexagone to celebrate the French national holiday this year! Melbourne is holding its own Bastille Day Festival on the weekend of July 18 and 19. Hosted by the State Library of Victoria, the festival will include French food, music, market stalls, lectures, school presentations, film screenings, wine, theatre and an exhibition of the library’s French treasures. There’s a rich festival programme spanning Friday to Sunday, and several events are free.
